Daily regular flights from all major UK airports will take you to your
chosen destination in around 2.5 to 3 hours, transfers direct to your
hotel can be arranged in advance at reasonable cost.
In Rome take time to catch the tourist bus from outside Termini, this
gives a good tour of the must see sights and allows you to hop on and
off throughout the day to see them at your leisure. Public transport is
cheap and frequent. You can buy bus, metro and tram tickets in
tobacconists or at the stations and have them validated once on the
bus/tram or at the stations. And don’t forget you get to take as many
buses or trams as you wish within a 75 minute period as well as one
metro ride!
