Grand Tour

Imagine yourself in landing in Venice and being escorted to a local hotel by your tour director in time for dinner on the eve of your very own Grand tour! Following breakfast you’re driven towards Padua, Bologna where you’ll have time to explore and on to the tiny state of San Marino where you’ll settle for the night. Onwards to Urbino and its magnificent Ducal Palace and the medieval town of Gubbio and Assisi, home of St Francis where you’ll be able to visit the magnificent Basilica of St Francis.

Across the Apennines and after a stop at Viterbo, where you can visit the Piazza San Lorenzo, you’ll head off towards the Eternal City, Rome! A local guide will accompany you around the sights of this vibrant and unique city including St Peters and the Vatican.

Having spent a couple of days in Rome you move south through Montecassino and Pompeii where you’ll be escorted around the remains of this aristocratic town before moving onto your base for the next 2 nights, the picturesque Sorrento. From this beautiful spot overlooking the Bay of Naples you’ll take the short crossing to Capri and wander its narrow alleys and explore this exquisite island.

Onwards to the Italian-gothic architecture of Orvieto arriving at Sienna early evening ready to explore the Tuscan delights of Pisa, Lucca and Florence which will be your home for the following 2 nights. Home of the Renaissance, Florence will leave you in awe at its beauty and you will be escorted around its magnificence. Further visits to Mantua and Sirmione on the edge of Lake Garda and onto Verona where you will stay in this city of pink marble. Spend time wandering the streets and visit the fabled home of Juliet and take in the views of the amphitheatre whilst enjoying a cappuccino at one of the many street café’s.

And so to Vicenza for some sightseeing before moving onto your final stopover in the Veneto region, before you leave you’ll be accompanied around the sights before one final night to relax and recount the adventures of your Grand Tour.
